Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (dry van, refrigerated, or flatbed) within Chicago metropolitan area and regional routes
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations, HOS compliance, and company safety protocols
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and document maintenance requirements
- Manage efficient loading/unloading with dock teams and verify shipment documentation
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage reports, and electronic logging
- Communicate proactively with dispatch regarding route conditions and delivery status
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screen, and background check
- Proficiency in electronic logging devices (ELD) and route navigation systems
- Strong understanding of Chicago traffic patterns and regional geography
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
