Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles in the Chicago metropolitan area and surrounding regions.
- Deliver freight to customers in a timely manner while adhering to delivery schedules.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper handling of all goods.
- Maintain accurate daily logs (ELD) and all required DOT paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding route changes or delays.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of driving experience (preferred but not required for top talent).
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug screen and background check.
- Strong knowledge of local streets and traffic patterns in Chicago.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and maneuver cargo weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
