Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport goods across North Carolina and surrounding regions
- Perform thorough pre-trip inspections, post-trip documentation, and routine vehicle maintenance checks
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations, HOS compliance, and company safety protocols
- Load/unload cargo efficiently while maintaining secure and damage-free transport
- Utilize GPS technology for optimal route planning and timely deliveries
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and warehouse teams
- Report maintenance issues, accidents, or delays promptly and accurately
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license with clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background check
- Familiarity with North Carolina roadways and regional logistics hubs
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
- Basic mechanical knowledge for roadside troubleshooting
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
