Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport goods across designated routes
- Perform thorough pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate logs
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company safety protocols
- Load/unload cargo efficiently and verify delivery documentation
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery status
- Minimize fuel consumption through route optimization and defensive driving
- Represent Metro Transport professionally in all customer interactions
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Proficiency with electronic logging devices (ELD)
- Strong knowledge of Texas roadways and regulations
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and operate loading equipment
- Flexibility for overnight routes and weekend shifts
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
