Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently to deliver freight on time and in perfect condition.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure compliance and safety standards.
- Secure cargo properly using straps and chains, and verify manifests before departure.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD) and adhere strictly to all DOT hours-of-service regulations.
- Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding route changes and delivery updates.
- Maintain a clean driving record and a professional appearance at all times.
- Manage loading and unloading tasks to ensure the efficient flow of goods.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B CDL with a clean driving record (MVR) and no serious violations.
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred (Class A required for OTR roles).
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving techniques.
- Basic computer literacy for electronic logging device (ELD) usage and electronic invoicing.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays if required.
