Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles (Class A or Class B) to transport goods safely and efficiently across the New Orleans area.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo using proper equipment, ensuring items are secured and protected during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, digital paperwork, and daily mileage records.
- Provide excellent customer service by delivering freight in a timely and professional manner.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations in the past 3-5 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug screen and background check.
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift and move freight weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Basic math and navigation skills for route planning.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
