Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial delivery vehicles (Class A or B) to transport goods to designated locations within the San Diego metro area.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the safety of the vehicle and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Load and unload cargo carefully, ensuring all items are secured properly and handling merchandise with care.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, bills of lading, and other required paperwork (eLog, BOL, manifests).
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries and handle any issues professionally.
- Keep the delivery vehicle clean and maintain a professional appearance.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B required.
- Must possess a clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Must be at least 21 years of age to operate a commercial vehicle across state lines (or 18/21 depending on specific route, adhering to CA laws).
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet strict delivery deadlines.
- Basic math skills for making change and handling cargo counts.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
