Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to deliver freight to designated locations within the Columbus metro area.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement using straps and bars.
- Inspect vehicle condition and maintain accurate delivery logs and electronic logging devices (ELD).
- Provide exceptional customer service during stops and handle billing inquiries professionally.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues.
- Manage time efficiently to meet delivery schedules and route requirements.
Qualifications
- Clean Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT physical) on file.
- Current DOT drug screen and background check (no disqualifying violations).
- Strong driving record with no major violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and perform physical labor in all weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and DOT compliance requirements.
- Availability for flexible shifts, including nights and weekends.
