Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial delivery trucks and vans in accordance with all federal, state, and local traffic laws.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition.
- Load and unload freight efficiently, ensuring proper securing of cargo to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and delivery receipts, ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately and on time.
- Provide excellent customer service by delivering freight professionally and handling any customer inquiries or complaints.
- Adhere to strict schedules and routes to meet company delivery targets and deadlines.
- Report any vehicle maintenance issues or road hazards immediately to the fleet management team.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL): Class A or Class B required.
- Driving Record: Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major traffic violations in the last 3-5 years.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of professional driving experience preferred.
- Documentation: Valid DOT medical card and current DOT registration.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly, stand for extended periods, and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of GPS navigation systems and vehicle diagnostics.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and professional demeanor.
