Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers and box trucks, on local and regional routes.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring weight distribution and securing loads according to safety regulations.
- Verify delivery documents and obtain proper signatures upon completion of routes.
- Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delays or route changes.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A or Class B license with the appropriate endorsements (Hazmat preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and DOT compliance regulations.
