Responsibilities
- Operate commercial Class A or Class B delivery trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Load and unload cargo securely using proper equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.).
- Maintain accurate logs (ELD) and paperwork, including delivery receipts and bill of lading.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies to ensure the safety of yourself and the public.
- Provide excellent customer service at delivery locations, including proper handling of freight and handling of any customer concerns.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding delays, route changes, or mechanical issues.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the appropriate class (Class A or B) and endorsements required for the cargo.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable driving experience in a commercial environment.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Physical) and a clean driving record (MVR).
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of Georgia and regional road networks.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing duties that may require standing for extended periods.
- Basic computer literacy for logging and electronic documentation.
