Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and delivery vehicles in a safe and efficient manner at all times.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling, weight distribution, and secure placement.
- Verify delivery addresses and obtain electronic or handwritten signatures from recipients.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and daily logs in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify and report any mechanical issues.
- Communicate professionally with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status, delays, or special handling instructions.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B with a clean driving record (MVR check required).
- Must be at least 21 years old for interstate commerce operations.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination (medical card required).
- Previous experience in commercial driving is preferred but not always required for top candidates.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and map reading/navigation tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and perform manual labor tasks during loading/unloading.
- Reliable and punctual with excellent time management skills and a professional demeanor.
