Responsibilities
- Operate commercial Class A trucks in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Inspect the vehicle for mechanical issues, tires, lights, brakes, and cargo safety before and after every trip.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and documentation.
- Maintain accurate logs (DVIR, Hours of Service) and electronic logging devices (ELD) in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is road-ready.
- Uphold a professional image at all times while representing Patriot Logistics Inc.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screening.
- Strong knowledge of interstate and intrastate transportation laws and regulations.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues on the road.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet strict delivery deadlines.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
