Responsibilities
- Operate commercial Class A tractor-trailer units safely and efficiently on regional and long-haul routes.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle compliance and safety.
- Load and unload freight, ensuring cargo security and proper weight distribution.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and adhere to all DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any route issues.
- Practice defensive driving techniques to minimize risk and ensure passenger and cargo safety.
- Keep the cab and trailer clean and organized to maintain a professional standard.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A.
- Minimum 1 year of driving experience preferred, but entry level candidates with a clean record will be considered.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Willingness to undergo a drug screen and background check.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in all weather conditions.
