Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A trucks over various routes, including critical San Antonio to California corridors.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance checks.
- Load and unload cargo securely using forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual techniques.
- Maintain accurate logs using Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) and comply with DOT regulations.
- Ensure timely delivery of freight while adhering to safety protocols and traffic laws.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding schedules and issues.
- Keep the truck and trailer clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean MVR (driving record).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of Hours of Service (HOS) and safety regulations.
- Basic mechanical skills for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Willingness to travel and work in various weather conditions.
