Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and vans to transport cargo safely and efficiently.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance.
- Load and unload freight securely, adhering to proper securing techniques.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of driving hours, miles, and fuel consumption.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and company policies.
- Ensure the preservation of cargo during transit and handle paperwork accurately.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license issued by the state of Illinois.
- Current DOT Medical Card.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug screen and background check.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to lift and handle cargo manually (up to 50 lbs).
- Flexibility to work varying shifts and weekends as needed.
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with no serious traffic violations.
