Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) in strict accordance with FMCSA regulations and company safety policies.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts or other equipment, ensuring cargo security and proper weight distribution.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and adhere to Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules, delays, and route changes.
- Keep the cab and trailer clean and organized at all times.
- Uphold the company's professional image while interacting with customers and the public.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record (MVR).
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and obtain a Medical Examiner's Certificate.
- Willingness to pass a drug screen and background check.
- Basic math skills for toll payments and cargo weight calculations.
- Strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and adherence to traffic laws.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
- Valid DOT medical card preferred.
