Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport cargo to designated locations within a timely manner.
- Load and unload freight, ensuring all cargo is secured properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and adhere strictly to Hours of Service (HOS) limits.
- Communicate clearly with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules, route changes, and any delays.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A required.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial truck driving experience.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of local and regional roadways in the Bay Area.
- Ability to lift and handle cargo weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally.
