Responsibilities
- Operational Safety: Safely operate commercial trucks on highways and local routes, delivering freight on time and within service windows.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform comprehensive pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify mechanical issues and ensure 100% DOT compliance.
- Load Management: Secure cargo using appropriate straps and bars, ensuring the safety of the load and the public roadways.
- Documentation: Accurately complete and file all shipping paperwork, including bills of lading, delivery receipts, and electronic logs (ELD).
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with shippers and receivers, maintaining a positive brand image at every stop.
- Route Optimization: Navigate efficiently to avoid delays while adhering to traffic laws and designated delivery routes.
Qualifications
- Licensing: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable Class A driving experience in the last 3 years.
- Background: Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam and a drug screen.
- Vehicle Record: No serious traffic violations or DUIs within the last 5 years.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb in and out of the cab frequently, and sit for extended periods.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to use a radio or mobile device effectively.
