Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles to deliver goods on assigned routes within Washington, DC and surrounding areas
- Conduct thorough pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations, HOS guidelines, and company safety protocols
- Load/unload cargo efficiently using appropriate equipment and safety procedures
- Plan optimized routes considering traffic, weather, and delivery schedules
- Provide exceptional customer service during delivery interactions
- Utilize GPS technology for real-time navigation and delivery tracking
- Submit timely delivery documentation and incident reports
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license with clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screen, and background check
- Knowledge of Washington, DC metropolitan area and Mid-Atlantic region
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and operate loading equipment
- Proficiency in electronic logging devices and route navigation systems
- Flexible schedule availability including early mornings and weekends
