Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and vans to deliver goods to designated routes within the Washington DC metropolitan area.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks, ensuring secure loading and proper weight distribution.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, paperwork, and electronic logging devices (ELD) in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Interact professionally with customers, handling inquiries and resolving delivery issues efficiently.
- Perform routine maintenance checks and report any vehicle malfunctions to management immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A (Must include Hazmat endorsement).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience in a professional setting.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Medical Card).
- Clean driving record with no major violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex traffic patterns in the DC area.
