Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle (CMV) to deliver freight to customers on established routes.
- Inspect the tractor-trailer before, during, and after trips to ensure mechanical safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution.
- Complete all necessary paperwork, including bills of lading, delivery receipts, and daily logs (DVIR).
- Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to all FMCSA regulations and company safety policies.
- Communicate professionally with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and any delays.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify any mechanical issues before they become problems.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable Class A driving experience.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
- Basic English reading and writing skills for documentation purposes.
- Strong commitment to safety and customer service excellence.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
