Responsibilities
- Operate commercial tractor-trailers to deliver freight safely and efficiently within the Richmond metro area and surrounding regions.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance and safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo using proper lifting techniques and equipment to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and daily delivery logs.
- Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to resolve delivery issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A issued by the state of Virginia.
- Current DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable Class A driving experience.
- Clean driving record with no major violations or DUIs within the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a background check and a pre-employment drug screen.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently.
