Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport freight across designated routes in Oakland and surrounding regions
- Conduct pre-trip inspections, maintenance checks, and ensure DOT compliance for all vehicles
- Plan efficient routes while adhering to delivery schedules and traffic regulations
- Load/unload cargo using proper equipment and secure materials according to safety protocols
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage records, and incident reports
- Communicate with dispatch teams and clients regarding delivery status and potential delays
- Adhere to all federal/state transportation laws and company safety policies
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background check
- Familiarity with Oakland metro area traffic patterns and delivery zones
- Strong knowledge of cargo securement techniques and weight distribution
- Basic mechanical aptitude for minor troubleshooting and maintenance
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
