Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles over designated routes in the NYC metropolitan area
- Load/unload cargo with proper handling techniques and equipment
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate DOT compliance logs
- Communicate with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and exceptions
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and FMCSA regulations
- Perform minor preventative maintenance checks and report mechanical issues
- Collaborate with warehouse teams to ensure timely loading/unloading operations
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Proficient in NYC navigation and surrounding regions
- Knowledge of HAZMAT regulations (certification preferred)
- Strong time management and customer service skills
- Ability to work flexible schedule including nights/weekends
- Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds and climb equipment
