Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial motor vehicles (CMV) to deliver freight to designated customers in the Santa Ana and surrounding areas.
- Perform thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with FMCSA and company safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring all freight is properly secured and handled with care.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, bills of lading, and electronic logging device (ELD) records in strict adherence to regulations.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, traffic control signals, and company driving policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and management regarding delivery status, delays, and operational issues.
- Uphold a professional image and provide exceptional customer service at every stop.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A issued by the state of California.
- A clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no serious traffic violations or DUIs within the last 7 years.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and a drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of cargo securement and DOT compliance regulations.
- Basic computer skills for handling paperwork and electronic logging systems.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and work in various weather conditions.
