Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles to deliver freight on designated regional routes
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, HOS guidelines, and company safety protocols
- Load/unload shipments with proper handling techniques and documentation
- Provide exceptional customer service through clear communication and timely deliveries
- Utilize GPS navigation systems to optimize route efficiency and on-time performance
- Submit delivery paperwork and maintain accurate electronic logs
- Collaborate with dispatch team to resolve route challenges and delays
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Strong knowledge of Houston metro area and Texas highway systems
- Proficiency in electronic logging device (ELD) operations
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility to adjust schedule for critical delivery windows
