Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A trucks and vans to deliver goods to designated routes in the Washington DC metro area.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper documentation and handling of packages.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and electronic logging device (ELD) records in strict adherence to FMCSA regulations.
- Interact professionally with customers, resolving delivery issues and maintaining high satisfaction scores.
- Adhere to strict schedules and time management protocols to meet daily route goals.
- Keep the vehicle interior and exterior clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in local route driving or logistics.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical examination and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of DC traffic laws and city geography.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
- Reliable personal vehicle for company use if required (or proof of transportation).
