Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A vehicles to transport goods across state lines and within Florida.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Load and unload cargo using proper equipment, ensuring weight distribution and cargo securement.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and all necessary delivery paperwork.
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws and company safety policies to minimize accidents and violations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid US Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A required.
- Must possess a clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations in the last 3 years.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience as a Class A Driver.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal traffic laws.
- Basic math skills for cargo loading calculations.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays if required.
