Responsibilities
- Operate commercial motor vehicles (Class A) safely and efficiently to ensure timely delivery of freight throughout the Nashville region and beyond.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to verify mechanical condition and document any discrepancies.
- Complete accurate electronic logging device (ELD) reports and all required delivery paperwork within strict time windows.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing freight to prevent damage.
- Maintain a clean driving record and adhere strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to resolve issues and provide updates on delivery status.
- Keep the truck cab and trailer clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC) and ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol screen.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable driving experience in the last 3 years (Class A experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of Hours of Service (HOS) rules, traffic laws, and safety regulations.
- Ability to pass a background check and a motor vehicle record (MVR) review.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays, as required by business needs.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading.
