Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks (Class A) safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the safety of the cargo and the vehicle.
- Load and unload freight securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing cargo with straps and chains.
- Maintain accurate driver logs (ELD) and all necessary paperwork, including bills of lading and delivery receipts.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Conduct routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues immediately to fleet management.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A required.
- Must possess a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable driving experience in the last 3 years.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, nights, and holidays as required.
- Basic English reading and comprehension skills.
