Job Overview:
As a Weekend CDL Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of freight across Illinois and surrounding regions. You will handle cargo with care, maintain accurate logs, and ensure your vehicle is in peak condition.
Responsibilities
- Operate commercial Class A trucks safely and efficiently to deliver freight to designated locations.
- Load and unload cargo using proper equipment and techniques to prevent damage.
- Prepare and maintain accurate daily logs, mileage records, and delivery paperwork (Bill of Lading).
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety protocols, and traffic laws at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A License required (Commercial Driver's License).
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Medical Card).
- Pass a background check and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and hours-of-service (HOS) rules.
- Ability to operate manual and automatic transmissions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to safety.
