Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A tractor-trailers on designated routes throughout the Bay Area and regional lanes.
- Perform thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections (DVIR) to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate Electronic Logging Device (ELD) records and adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Interact professionally with dispatch, customers, and fellow team members to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Keep the truck and trailer clean, organized, and free of debris at all times.
- Report any mechanical issues or safety hazards immediately to management.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record (no more than 2 minor violations in the last 3 years).
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience.
- Pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Strong knowledge of DOT/HOS regulations and safety procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and handle cargo straps/bands.
