Responsibilities
- Safe Operation: Operate commercial trucks and heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner at all times.
- Vehicle Inspection: Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the safety of the cargo and the driver.
- Cargo Handling: Load and unload cargo using proper safety techniques and equipment.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of driving hours (ELD), mileage, and delivery records.
- Maintenance: Report any mechanical issues to maintenance immediately to ensure minimal downtime.
- Compliance: Adhere to all local, state, and federal traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Customer Service: Represent Elite Logistics professionally while interacting with customers and delivery sites.
Qualifications
- CDL Required: Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) without hazardous materials restrictions.
- Clean Record: Must possess a clean driving record (MVR) with no DUI or major violations in the past 3-5 years.
- Physical Health: Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam.
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and ability to use two-way radios.
- Math Skills: Basic math skills required for fuel calculations and mileage tracking.
- Teamwork: Ability to work well within a team environment and follow instructions.
