Responsibilities
- Operate commercial Class A trucks in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck and cargo are secure and roadworthy.
- Load and unload freight safely using appropriate equipment, ensuring cargo integrity during transit.
- Maintain accurate logs using Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) to comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered on the road.
- Keep the truck clean and organized, and report any mechanical issues immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Clean driving record with no more than one preventable accident in the past three years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug screen and physical examination.
- Basic English language proficiency for reading road signs and communicating with dispatch.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends as needed.
