Responsibilities
- Safe Vehicle Operation: Safely operate commercial vehicles on various roadways, including highways and local routes in Kansas City and Texas.
- Inspections: Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Cargo Handling: Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and safety protocols are followed.
- Documentation: Complete all necessary paperwork accurately, including delivery receipts and logs, within strict time frames.
- Customer Service: Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with customers and dock personnel.
- Route Adherence: Follow GPS and delivery instructions to ensure on-time deliveries while adhering to all traffic laws.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A License: Must possess a current, valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) from the state of residence.
- Driving Record: Clean driving record with no major violations within the last 3-5 years.
- Availability: Must be available to work Night Shift schedules and weekends as required.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of driving experience preferred (but willing to train qualified candidates).
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, and stand for extended periods.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to use mobile communication devices.
