Responsibilities
- Operate commercial Class A trucks in a safe and efficient manner to deliver freight to designated locations.
- Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections, including reporting any mechanical issues.
- Load and unload cargo using proper equipment and techniques to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate logs (DOT compliant) and ensure all paperwork is completed correctly.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and any delays.
- Keep the vehicle interior and exterior clean and organized.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug screen and background check.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and vehicle maintenance.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and endure long periods of sitting and standing.
- Must be able to operate a 10-speed or automatic transmission truck.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends if necessary.
