Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and trailers in a safe and efficient manner over assigned routes.
- Load and unload freight, ensuring proper securing and safety protocols.
- Verify cargo contents and document delivery receipts accurately.
- Perform routine pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance checks.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance while adhering to company dress codes.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations, including DOT hours of service (HOS).
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and issues.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A required.
- Must possess a clean driving record with no major violations in the last 3 years.
- Demonstrated ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safe driving practices.
- Ability to lift and move cargo up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
- Basic computer literacy for logging and paperwork.
