Responsibilities
- Operate commercial Class A trucks safely and efficiently to deliver freight to designated locations in Austin and surrounding areas.
- Inspect vehicle condition before, during, and after trips (Pre-Trip & Post-Trip inspections).
- Manage all necessary documentation, including bills of lading, delivery receipts, and logbooks, ensuring full DOT compliance.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment (forklift, pallet jack) while ensuring cargo security.
- Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding schedules and any delays.
- Perform routine maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A required.
- Current Medical Card (DOT compliant).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable Class A driving experience preferred.
- Pass a comprehensive background check (MVR, criminal history) and drug screen.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends if necessary.
