Responsibilities
- Operate commercial Class A trucks to transport freight safely and efficiently across the region.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Load and unload cargo using proper equipment, ensuring all freight is secure for transit.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and logbooks in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety protocols to ensure a clean driving record.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and any route changes.
- Keep the truck and trailer clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A required.
- Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Physical) must be available for inspection.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable Class A driving experience preferred.
- Clean driving record with no more than 3 minor moving violations in the past 3 years.
- Ability to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet strict delivery deadlines.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues on the road.
