Responsibilities
- Operate commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) safely and legally in strict accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment, including forklifts, straps, and chains, ensuring cargo security.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and identify maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate logs and electronic logging device (ELD) records, adhering to Hours of Service (HOS) rules.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules, route changes, and potential delays.
- Uphold a professional appearance and demeanor while representing the Apex Transport brand.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety procedures, and customer service standards.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record (MVR check required).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable Class A driving experience in last 3 years.
- Current Medical Card (DOT compliant).
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Familiarity with DOT and FMCSA regulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid DOT Medical Certificate.
