Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A trucks and delivery vehicles in and around the Detroit metropolitan area.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring compliance with weight restrictions and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation, including electronic logging devices (ELD) and delivery receipts.
- Provide exceptional customer service by delivering goods on time and maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks before, during, and after shifts.
- Adhere strictly to all DOT regulations, company policies, and traffic laws.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding schedules, delays, and delivery issues.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license required (clean driving record preferred).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable driving experience in a commercial environment.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screening.
- Basic math skills and attention to detail for cargo documentation and weight calculations.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-service oriented attitude.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Current Medical Card and DOT compliant equipment.
