Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A vehicles to deliver freight to customers throughout the Columbus, OH area and surrounding regions.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and vehicle readiness.
- Load and unload cargo using proper equipment, ensuring cargo is secured and protected from damage.
- Maintain accurate logs (ELD) and adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) and company safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service by delivering goods professionally and communicating effectively with dispatch.
- Complete all required paperwork, including bills of lading and delivery receipts, accurately and on time.
- Report any mechanical issues or road hazards immediately to the maintenance department.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record (MVR check required).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and cargo handling procedures.
- Basic computer skills for logging and documentation purposes.
- Willingness to work varying shifts and occasional weekends if necessary.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
