Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and heavy machinery on San Diego roadways and highways.
- Load and unload freight efficiently while adhering to strict safety protocols and company standards.
- Complete daily vehicle inspections (Pre-Trip and Post-Trip) and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Maintain accurate logs using Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) in full compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status, potential delays, and route changes.
- Ensure the security and safety of cargo during transit and handle paperwork accurately.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and defensive driving techniques to ensure the safety of passengers and other road users.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record (MVR).
- Must be available to work night shifts (e.g., 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM or similar rotating shifts).
- Must possess a current DOT medical card and pass a DOT physical examination.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, route planning, and navigation systems.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects up to 50 lbs occasionally during loading/unloading.
