Responsibilities
- Operate commercial Class A trucks safely and efficiently on assigned routes throughout San Diego and surrounding areas.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and report any mechanical issues.
- Load and unload cargo securely using proper lifting techniques and equipment.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, electronic logging devices (ELD), and delivery receipts.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and company safety policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status and schedule changes.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance checks, including tire pressure and fluid levels.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screening.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and cargo securement procedures.
- Basic mechanical skills to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.
- Excellent customer service skills and professional communication abilities.
- Reliable transportation to and from work locations.
