Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A trucks and trailers in a professional manner, adhering to all traffic laws.
- Ensure timely delivery of freight to designated locations within the Northeast region.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and report any mechanical issues.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Load and unload cargo safely, ensuring proper securing and weight distribution to prevent damage.
- Maintain a clean and organized cab and cargo area at all times, presenting a professional image to clients.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status, delays, and any route changes.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record (MVR).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable Class A driving experience in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination (Medical Card).
- Strong understanding of traffic laws, safety regulations, and map reading/navigation.
- Flexibility to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required by business needs.
- Ability to lift and handle freight weighing up to 50 lbs occasionally during loading/unloading.
- Willingness to undergo a criminal background check and drug screening.
