Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 8 tractor-trailers on regional routes covering Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Michigan
- Conduct thorough pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD)
- Load/unload freight with proper securing techniques and documentation
- Adapt to dynamic delivery schedules while maintaining strict on-time performance
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding shipment status
- Uphall all FMCSA regulations and Swift's safety protocols
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and pass DOT physical examination
- Strong knowledge of regional geography and weather navigation
- Proficiency in ELD systems and basic mobile technology
- Flexibility for occasional overnight trips and early morning starts
- Pass background check and drug screening requirements
