Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and report any mechanical issues.
- Safely load and secure freight on flatbed and van trailers, adhering to load securement standards.
- Navigate local and regional routes efficiently, maintaining strict adherence to traffic laws and delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic logging device (ELD) records and all required paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and potential delays.
- Practice defensive driving techniques at all times to ensure the safety of yourself, your cargo, and the public.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience in the last 3 years.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Basic understanding of logbooks, HOS regulations, and cargo securement rules.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently.
