Job Summary
As a Truck Driver for Midwest Freight Logistics, you will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of freight across the Midwest region. You will play a crucial role in our supply chain, ensuring our clients receive their cargo on schedule and in perfect condition.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial Class A truck, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment (forklifts, straps, chains) ensuring weight distribution is correct.
- Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and log accurate Hours of Service (HOS) using ELD.
- Maintain a clean and organized cab and truck cab to present a professional image.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and any delays.
- Adhere to safety regulations, including Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) certification if applicable.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Current DOT Medical Card and DOT Drug Screen certification.
- Ability to pass a background check and motor vehicle record (MVR) review.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Physically capable of performing the duties of the job, including lifting and bending.
