Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks (Class A) to deliver freight safely and on time to various locations in the DC Metro area.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure DOT compliance and vehicle safety.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic logging device (ELD) records.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring goods arrive in pristine condition.
- Navigate complex traffic patterns and roadways in the District of Columbia efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding schedules and delivery updates.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class A) required.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable driving experience preferred.
- Clean driving record with no more than 3 preventable accidents in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Must be at least 21 years of age to operate commercial vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and map reading.
